Lighten Up with a Cookie

Forget what has been yet another depressing week, if you’ve heard any of the news (almost impossible to avoid). Instead, let’s lighten up and celebrate on this special day.  It’s National Chocolate Chip Cookie Day!  (Full disclosure: I’m addicted to them.)

Pull out a package of those delightful indulgences and read “5 Facts You Need to Know” about them. Learn about their  mysterious history, their accidental invention, who makes $3 million from them each year at a fair, who was the first one to package them up for our consumption, and–very important–how to get free ones today.

Now, pop a cookie into your watering mouth, go to that website, and get some education with your calories.

Protection for Smokers’ Rights

I’ve come up with a way to reestablish the currently trampled-on rights of smokers.  I’ve invented the NoSmoke Hood.  I don’t have a prototype for it yet, so let me describe it.

Its basic design is very similar to the picture below. It fits loosly around the head and snugly down on the shoulders.  Mine has a clear plastic front, with a triangular protrusion to allow space for the cigarette or cigar.  The smoker carries a small air purifying pack (can fit into backpack or purse).  A set of tubes runs to and from that pack to the hood to carry the smoky air to the unit and clean air back into the hood.  The unit will also have a small air-cooling device, to keep the smoker cool and comfy.

By using my invention, people can smoke away, anywhere and any time they wish and not face those ridiculous health regulations in public places or hear those annoying complaints from stupid, overly health-conscious bystanders.

I think I have a winner here.  What do you think?

Grandson’s Love and Imagination

Why not help Grandma see?  That’s what this 8th grader decided to do to help his grandmother cope with macular degeneration.  His invention may just offer hope to millions of people who can’t afford the $15,000 pricetag on what’s available now but might be able to afford his invention at a fraction of the cost.  Watch this interesting this short video.
