America’s Subtle Tribute to Mandala

What better tribute to a man who fostered freedom, peace, and brotherhood than a simple gesture of a handshake?  At first I was impressed by the trust we put into the South African people by sending four of our Presidents, including our current one, into a situation with very little security, trusting the people to keep them safe from harm.  Then I saw President Obama reach out and shake the hand of Cuba’s Raul Castro, who is the exact opposite of Nelson Mandala. This small act spoke of respect for the man being remembered and for all that he stood for. Further, the fact that Castro accepted Obama’s handshake gave me some small hope for a brighter world.
