I’m not saying that the Trump Hush Money trial, in its 12th day, seems to be going unduly slowly. Or that lawyers are purposely dragging it out. But its TV coverage title says it’s episode [#} OF SEASON 1! Scary.

Just Do It!
Life should be enjoyed. Too often we want to do something but worry about what others will think. For those times, today’s Thursday Thought quote has the answer.
May Day! May Day!
Today is May Day. When I was a child, it wasso much fun! Our school put up a May Pole, and kids held onto long colorful streamers and wound their way around it. We didn’t have a May Queen, like in England, although my friends in Catholic School celebrated the Virgin Mary as Queen. We sang songs and did dances and enjoyed this traditional spring festival. We weren’t aware that May Day (called “Labour Day” by some back then) had been co-opteded by Communists and Socialists into an International Workers’ Day in the late 1800s. And we were many years away from today, when the labor movement has claimed the day as its own, celebrating it yearly to point out injustices people face in the workplace. When I was a child, I was blissfully unaware of prejudices and inequalities. When I was a child, I was powerless to do anything about it.
Today, I am an adult.
Amazing “Strides” for Parkinsons Sufferers
This is amazing–a word I don’t use very often. Watch how music can transform the burden of walking for a person with Parkinson’s Disease into a pleasurable experience. The human mind is, well…AMAZING!
A Successful Day
Saturday was National Independent Bookstores Day. It was successful for me because I met other local authors, got to promote Booksmart in Morgan Hill CA (great small bookstore), enjoy a slightly chilly but nice Spring day, and even sold a bunch of books. SUPPORT YOUR LOCAL SMALL BOOKSTORE! And check out my latest book at https://smthingscount.com/women-in-me/. It’s available at any online bookstore in print and eBook.
“Cabrini”–A Movie You MUST See
“Cabrini” is a marvelous film! it’s about the first US saint, but it isn’t a religious movie–no praying nuns or miracles. It’s about a strong woman who refused to take NO for an answer when, despite her own illness, she fought poverty, New York’s Italian immigrant bigotry, politicians, the Church, even the Pope himself as she worked for human dignity.
Immunity
This is a logic question, not political. Why is the Supreme Court even considering whether a President has absolute immunity? If he does, doesn’t that contradict Art. II Sect. 4 which says a President can be removed from office for “high crimes & misdemeanors”? Doesn’t that mean a POTUS is NOT immune?
