Remember my telling you about KEA, the up-and-coming educational/environmental non-profit getting set up to work in E. Africa? While they’re working on business plans, funding, and such, they’re aligning themselves with another worthwhile group…one more area (people with disabilities ) that’s close to my heart.
KEA is working with Diveheart Foundation on a very exciting project. Diveheart provides educational SCUBA diving and snorkeling experience programs to children, adults, or veterans with a disability, affording both physical and psychological therapeutic value. Thanks to the wonders of the oceans of the world, people with physical limitations learn how to scuba dive, thus building confidence and self-esteem while eclipsing the participants’ expectations for what they are able to accomplish.
