Smile!

Yesterday, while walking my dog, I saw a sad, lonely-looking woman sitting on her front porch.  When she raised her head, I smiled. Her face lit up, and she silently smiled at me.  It reminded me of today’s Thursday Thought quote:

“What  sunshine is to flowers, smiles are to humanity. These are but trifles, to be sure; but scattered along life’s pathway, the good they do is inconceivable.” – Joseph Addison

Strangers ands Smiles

I don’t know who said this Thursday Thought quote, but it makes a lot of sense.

“Today, give a stranger one of your smiles.

It might be the only sunshine he sees all day.”

So, Smile Already!

Today’s Thursday Thought quote reminds us of the power of  a smile.

“What sunshine is to flowers, smiles are to humanity. These are but trifles, to be sure; but scattered along life’s pathway, the good they do is inconceivable.” — Joseph Addison

What’s in a Smile?

It’s tiny, sometimes bubbling up from within us, sometimes called up because we think it would be appropriate.  No matter.  As today’s Thursday Thought quote illustrates, it has great power.

“WHAT SUNSHINE IS TO FLOWERS, SMILES ARE TO HUMANITY. THESE ARE BUT TRIFLES, TO BE SURE; BUT SCATTERED ALONG LIFE’S PATHWAY, THE GOOD THEY DO IS INCONCEIVABLE.”  — JOSEPH ADDISON
