The Irony of Voter Fraud

OK, fellow irony-lovers, here’s another one for us.  And I mean it to be taken in the spirit of irony, not politics, please.

Steve Curtis didn’t just promote the voter-fraud controversy, he blamed it on the Democrats.  Which, I admit, is reasonable for this conservative talk-show host and ex-Colorado Republican Party chairman.

Then–allegedly–he used his ex-wife’s 2016 mail-in ballot to vote for the candidates and issues of his choice, forging her name on it.

Isn’t that voter fraud?  And isn’t he NOT a Democrat?

Read the story from The Washington Post or US News.com or Fox or a bunch of other news outlets.  Seems like the media enjoys a good bit of irony as much as I do.

IPhones and Irony

I wonder if Tim Cook appreciates this irony: People have been standing in line for days waiting to buy the iphone 6.  While in line, they’ve struck up conversations and made new friends.  In other words, they’ve been aware of others around them, actually communicating with people…as they wait in line to buy a device that limits both of those activities.

Mmmmmmm………..

ISIS: The Irony of too Many (& the Wrong) Gods

Background: Muslims believe in a single God.  The Taliban is out to destroy others who don’t believe in what they think is the same single God.  Now ISIS, an extra-ruthless faction of the Taliban, is taking their holy war to extremes, assassinating innocent people who get in the way of their steamrolling campaign to establish the One True God.

I find it ironic that they’e adopted the name ISIS.  Yes, it’s short for what they’re after–an Islamic State of Iraq and Syria.  But Isis is an Egyptian GODDESS!  It doesn’t seem right for them to add a god(ess) into their midst, even via their name.

Here’s another irony: Isis was the goddess of love, marriage, and health.  She represented the ideal mother and wife and was a protector of nature.  She was the friend of the little guy, the vulnerable and downtrodden.  Basically, she was the goddess of rebirth and life.

When it gets down to it, Isis represented everything the terrorist group ISIS is bent on destroying!  But I don’t think they’d even understand the irony.
