A Natural Solution to the Mid East Dilemma

I heard something on the news yesterday about the Middle East, that it’s heating up so rapidly that eventually humans won’t be able to live there.

Then I thought about the loooooooong, dehumanizing war there over rightful–and God-given–land ownership.

It made me think: politicians and heads of state can’t resolve the issue; I wonder if Nature will.  And, for those who believe in God and that the earth is in His real estate portfolio (both sides do), would that mean that the Big Guy is stepping in to remind the combatants that  they were all once one tribe and that the land doesn’t really belong to either of them?

Just wondering.

Kim Davis Still Employed?

Kentucky clerk Kim Davis has every right–and moral obligation–to refuse to do something she feels strongly is against her moral convictions.  However, she does not have the right to go against her oath of office or to refuse to carry out the duties she was hired to do.  She can’t effect change by watching others issue licences for gay marriages while declining to do so herself.  Nor can she change the rules of law by refusing to do so.

It would be a meaningful step if she were to resign her position.  She could do it at a press conference, which would give her a very public forum to express her views that gay marriage is against God’s will.  That could position her as a lead spokesperson for a group who is working toward overturning the current law, giving her more power and opportunity to fight the fight.

I call on her to stop trying to have it both ways and make the sacrifice of her job for what she believes is the greater good.

Have These Girls Been Abandoned?

Yesterday marks a year when hundreds of children were ripped from their families.  Their only crime was being females trying to get an education.  Those Nigerian teens (aged 16-18) ended their school day by being kidnapped by Boko Haram militants, who believe that Western education, especially of girls, is an offense against God.  Ultimately, the girls were forced to convert to Islam–the perverted kind practiced by Boko Haram and ISIS–and made to marry the soldiers who kidnapped them.

What kind of person would do that to children?  What kind of God would approve?

Children are to be protected and nurtured, not used and abused.

But rescue attempts have fallen off to almost nothing, and parents continue to grieve.  Where is the world’s indignation?!

“Grow up!” says God

So many people say that God has told them what He demands to be done in order to honor and obey Him: kill all non-believers; convert people to your concept of Him, and do so by whatever means necessary; enslave people of specific ethnic groups or gender; kill people who kill others (except, of course, when in the process of “cleansing” the Earth); occupy land because He promised you a homeland, then proclaim it as the specific location He promised; treat people of different religious beliefs as inferior and misguided; and interpret the Koran or Bible or whatever your holy book is to support such actions.

Well, God talks to me, too, and I hear Him saying this:  What I really want is peace among all My children.   Grow up, people, and work on getting along rather than destroying My creation!
