Safety Tip

Here’s a safety tip for those of you who haven’t heard it yet.  It has to do with your GPS device that you keep in your car or is built into your car.  Many of us put “Home” in so we can find it quickly.  Don’t do it.  If you’re parked in a mall, for example, someone can break into your car, punch “home” into your GPS, and know where you live and that it’s a good  time to burglarize your house because you’re away shopping.

I have my dog’s name programmed into my GPS.

Be safe.

I’m Not Gone Forever

I’m on my way to So. Cal to be mother-of-the groom!  It’s a happy, long-awaited event that I intend to enjoy thoroughly.  My husband and I will spend some time with family on both sides before our return Sept. 8.  Today’s blog, then, will be the last one until Sept. 9.

[Note to burglars:  We have a vicious watchdog and an even more vicious house-sitter.]

See you back here 9/9.  Meanwhile, why not scroll through past blogs.  You might find something interesting.

Bungling Burglar–Vain or Stupid?

This guy should get a regular job, because he’s NOT cut out for a life of crime!  In Minnesota, a burglar entered a home and went about his business.  When he spotted the family computer, he checked his Facebook page, calling up his profile.  He got so busy admiring his picture that he forgot to log out before leaving with his loot–but forgetting a personal item or two.

Enter the police, who immediately grabbed the Facebook clue left for them.  They shared his photo on Facebook and posted a message telling the guy that they had some stuff belonging to him and he could have it back if he contacted them.  He texted the police and showed up to pick up his belongings.

He’s in jail, now, probably wondering what went wrong.

No, a lawbreaking-life is not for this guy!  But he’s good for a chuckle at his expense.
